It was an honor and privilege for me to serve as the President of AP¬PNA – Greater St. Louis Chapter for 2009. Our chapter continues to grow and make progress. Its members are among the most active in local and national APPNA. Dr. Manzoor Tariq (President, National APPNA 2011), Dr. Mohammed Haseeb (President, KEMCAANA 2010), Dr. Shazia Malik (President, DOGANA 2010), Dr. Sajid Zafar (Secretary, DOGAANA 2011), and Dr. Zia Moiz Ahmad (past president of DOGAANA and Inaugu¬ral president of APPNA—Greater St.Louis Chapter) to name a few. |

About 130–140 Pakistani physicians are members of the local chapter, out of potential 250 physicians in the metro St. Louis region. Our young physicians and strong local chapters hold the key to success of local and National AP¬PNA. Local chapters can serve as a platform to introduce young physicians to APPNA. From there, they may go on to choose to serve in their respective Alumnis and National APPNA. Local chapters can and should serve as a conduit for talented and enthusiastic young physicians with national aspirations. Otherwise, APPNA as an organization will not succeed. So please become a member of your local chapter. Dr.Mujtaba Qazi our current president has done a great job over the last three years as an office bearer of our chapter. He remains committed and enthusiastic about the running of this chapter in particular he has brought APPNA recog¬nition to local communities with various health screenings and seminars. |

I am sure our incoming president Dr. Mohammed Haseeb has big shoes to fill. He brings in a wealth of experi¬ence through his services to APPNA and I have no doubt that he will do a great job. |
